Regular annual boiler combustion tuning is essential to maintaining your boiler efficiency. An optimally tuned boiler burner will control O2 levels in the exhaust gas maintaining ~2.5-3% O2 levels. One important piece of equipment that typically fails over short amount of time is Oxygen trim hardware. When O2 levels rise in exhaust gas boiler efficiency is reduced reducing the controls system ability to maintain optimum 02 levels. A boiler that has not been tuned properly also has difficulty keeping outlet gas temps in the optimum range. As outlet temperature rises, boiler efficiency decreases. Over the course of a year, operating costs will increase because of the above listed issues.
